You guys, I have a confession. I spent a lot of time at the beginning of the year thinking about where I want to take this year and setting goals for myself and my business. Then I completely forgot about them!! I'm kind of scared to dig in and see what I've accomplished so far, but here goes...
Goal #1: Tighten up finances, invest! invest!
So far, I've met with my accountant to come up with a tighter budget.
Next step is to invest!
Goal #2: Foster my spiritual relationships
I joined a women's small group, and we did the I Am journey from Crossroads together.
Aaron and I have attended Crossroads for several years (we love it!), but we also plan to check out Missio Dei. It's a small local church where we can meet people in our community and have a tighter-knit experience.
Goal #3: Plan more time off
Already this year, I've taken more vacations than I did all of last year! I turned a business trip to LA into a girls trip with my sister (see gorgeous pics from Cali here!), and Aaron and I just got back from a weekend trip to Atlanta to see Bring Me the Horizon and explore a new city. We also have plans to go to the Firefly Music Festival in Delaware this summer! I can't wait!
Goal #4: Create a more focused business plan for MANMAN
I haven't started on this one yet, but I'll try to make it one of my next priorities!
Goal #5: Learn a new creative skill
I haven't started this one yet...heehee.
Goal #6: Invest in a hands-on hobby
Again...haven't started yet. This might go hand-in-hand with #5.
Goal #7: Volunteer outside of design and photography (do something physical!)
I'm in the investigative stage of this one. I'm really interested in volunteering with WordPlay in Northside! Their director is SO nice, their space is really cool, and I love getting to help kids learn to read and get their homework done.
Goal #8: Develop better fitness and healthy eating habits
I started taking probiotics and vitamins regularly. I've had stomach problems my ENTIRE life, but probiotics have changed all that. From the first day I started taking them (here's what I take), I've not had one stomachache or bloated feeling. I feel like a new woman!
I do yoga and stretching more often, and work out at the gym more often than last year (but it's still not as often as I want to!).
Aaron, Luna and I (and sometimes our friends) enjoy frequent walks around our neighborhood. It's been a great way to get some exercise, meet our neighbors and get to know our community a little better!
ACTUALLY, overall, I think I'm doing pretty good! I must have internalized my goals and started working toward them without even fully realizing it.
How are you doing on your New Year's resolution(s) or goal(s) for the year? Do you have any ideas for a hands-on hobby or new creative skill I could try? I'd love to hear your ideas...and your goals or resolutions for the year too!
