Every year brings us new adventures and new challenges...and this year, for the MANMAN's, we've had our share of both and where would we be if we didn't have anything to help us grow and push our comfort zones? I'm thankful for the good times and the bad and how we always figure out a way to make the best of it!
This year, it was Aaron and I's turn to host the Smedley Annual Xmas Trip! We were SO. EXCITED (we only get a turn every 7 years!!). We picked Louisville, Ky bc it was close AND because it had Cave Zip-lining, which sounded like an amazing experience to us! We found a huge house on Airbnb that fit all of us comfortably and then started on our adventures, which included cave ziplining, ropes for the kids, the zoo, a Louisville scavenger hunt and 21C's art museum (which was awesome and had so many things the kids loved...like 2-way mirrors in the bathrooms!, a live interactive video installation, trippy animations and lots of weird & beautiful sculptures, paintings and photography). We also did Breakout Louisville (Island Escape & Museum Heist), had an Adult Kids night of dancing & drinks, walked across one of Louisville's pedestrian bridges, and played my dad's crazy games he always comes up with (plus presents & Santa, of course!). As usual, it was a fun-filled few days...that wore us all out!
The Lehman clan had the one of the best gifts Christmas can offer with a bunch of the out-of-towners stopping in. Between Jon & Christie and their new addition to the family (Inara) hanging with us all through New Years, Robby's antics of trying on all of his presents immeadiately upon opening (even the basketball shorts!), how kindness just exudes out of Bob & Patty and Ryan & Caroline stopping by with their two spunky little beautiful girls, it was a FULL house (and that's w/o mentioning the the 5 dogs running around...bc none of us could stand the thought of leaving them out of all the fun!). Susie and Dick have to be one of the most easy-going hosts I've ever met. Imagine 5 dogs and 18 people running around YOUR house and neither of them batted an eye!
So, here's hoping that all of your Christmas' were just as fun and to a New Year of love, laughter and tons of adventures!
